The Texas Ranger line by RCI is a very very good choice as well. They are designed after the old Motorola speakers.

I got to agree with charger that texas ranger speaker is nice,

bought one from palcoelectronics a couple of months ago,and

must say im very happy with it.(chrome)it replaced an old

realistic from rat shack,go ahead and laugh,but that old realistic almost made it 20 years.I only hope TR last that long.

I use a cassette adapter plugged into the external speaker jack and run the sound thru my stereo system. So far, works for me.

The new Cobra speaker is very nice. Crisp, clear, great sound. I have an old motorola speaker, the Cobra sounds a little better. I think they're called "Overdrive". Their new antennas and mikes suck though.

Found it. RCI TExas Ranger MSRP $59.95. Saw one for $39.95. That's quite a price difference from the AM COM speaker. Looking closer, it looks like the Ranger is just (no disrespect) a high quality speaker and the AM COM is a DSP (-type?) speaker.

I have an Overdrive CDL-500 noise cancelling I use on my base. I love it, and H&Y has them at a bargain. I don't use the talk back feature so I guess the CDL-300 would be just as good.
