I agree with you Eddie.
In testing with some mobile antennas I found that differences were slight.
That is why when some one reports that they switched antennas and have seen a increase of 4 s units on the meter I take it with a grain of salt.
Two things come to mind.
The first antenna was a dummy load or very poorly set up.
Second,
There is a lot of feel good included with the new antennas results.
Just my experiences.
