I got an ol' Galaxy 1000 that cooked a Final tube and I cant ID any there's no writing on them.
Anyone by any chance know what they might be.
They look like Sweep tubes and there's 4 of them.

not sure if you mean the old cte galaxy 1000,
if so the one i had used 1 driving 4 el509 or el519 sweep tubes.

.....Now, that's the real problem, there is no Logo or trademark protection; any company can build a amplifier and call it a "Galaxy" or a Palomar or MACO. None of these can be connected back to the original builders of the 'Name-Brand' equipment.

If, it is a "Galaxy" with nothing driving 4 then the tubes could be 36KD6's. I have seen 4 of them across the AC power line to get the filament voltage. The B+ comes out of the big transformer.

Pics?

Ya it's got one driving 4 but can't give any ID right now.
When I get home tonightI'll dig her up and get more info on her and see if I can't post some pic's.

ya that be great as the size width how tall and hat size along with the pin layout ...then i can go through a tube diagram...

and check out what bob85 has to say to them tubes he listed are nice tubes ...I convert them 6lq6 to the el509 or el519
but the el519 is easyier to find :)

I have a linear book from hell and between that and the internet there is nothing on this linear...

Sorry I haven't had a chance to get the info there guys.
I'm on the road alot and only home for 1 or 2 days a week.
But I'm gonna get around to it and see if I can upload some pictures.

Ok I got the Id off the driver. and the finals.
we got a 6KD6 driving 4 8908 tubes.
I looked at that link to that Galaxy and nope it dont look like that one.
I had some problems with the computers for a bit but were back on line now.
Now I gotta get some pictures up somewhere.

Be nice to that amp, 8908's have been out of production since the 70's and they cannot be found anywhere (and if they could, you would pay over 100 bucks apiece for them).
