Trying to gain modulation after recapping of dead microphone

Recapped Turner SSK microphone with NEW axial capacitors. Alignments were in accordance with website fittings re: alignment of positive and negative poles ! Microphone not modulating after recapping? Does anyone know if transistor or IC could be faulty after recapping ? Appreciate any worldwide support. REgards
