I'm not one to share a lot of pictures but you're right. Seeing the pictures still doesn't prove that it works.
I have mentioned this approach to a limited space antenna a few times but the method just isn't commonly accepted and never will be. Feeding a low impedance high reactance antenna isn't an uncommon thing when you think about magnetic loops.
Here is some reading for anyone in a tight spot about what causes most short antennas to perform poorly. Beefy parts that prevent component heating help tremendously. Just big enough not to fail is not enough. The skin effect has to be considered when selecting conductor size. That #8 thhn might be good for a 40 amp circuit in your home but that's not the case with RF.
