I've an old school 2950, just got it back from a tune. Turned it on today to listen to some radio and after about an hour both of the display light went out. Also the keyboard lights seemed to have dimmed more than usual. I find it hard to believe that both the bulbs went at one time. Is there a point I can look at that is common to both bulbs to check the voltage and see if it's where it needs to be?
Thanks. The radio overall is like new and has only been on a few hours since I have owned it in the probably 10+ years anyway. Bums me out.

the two lamps are wired in series as shown here:

this means that if one goes out they both go out.

here is a link to that schematic:

Here is a pic of where the lamps are located. if you're not sure of your soldering abilities then i suggest leaving the leads soldered to the board and tacking on the new lamps to the existing leads.

@loosecannon saves the day again! You fellas that have been in the radio game a long time have tons of knowledge to share. It isn't my thread but I can't help but appreciate every time you share some of that experience with us.

Thanks. Well, good to know that's for sure. I replaced the incandescent bulbs with some amber 12V led's I had to kind of keep the original look as much as possible. Also I had a new keypad cover much whiter than the original so I changed that out too.
Looks almost the same. Anyway, at least I have a lighted display once again.
Should be good for a while now.
