That's a lot of radio. 45-52 amp PS should be fine.

Bobby If it is set up Right it will only use 20 to 20 amps. In the Neighbor Hood Of 200-250 watts out In SSB Is all it can do with splattering to the next channel. Ask me How I Know !

JFYI, power supplies ratings are typically "Peak" ratings. Always look for continuous power which can be about 1/3 less.

A 50 amp supply will probably be 37 continuous amps.

Your 2970 draws about 20 amps peak so you're fine and you have headroom to spare to add any low amperage accessories.

I run my N2 with a 35 amp Pyramid - works great!
That's with 225 watts out on ssb
