I just upgraded from an A-99 antenna on a 35 ft. push up pole, to a set of Maco Y-Quad beams about 54 ft. on a tower. I've been talking on the Y-Quad for a bout 3 days now. What are some of the obvious gains I should be expecting? I haven't quite figured out the whole "beam" thing yet but I know pretty much point them where you want to talk and go at it.

I still have the A-99 hooked up to another base unit in my house and it is still in use.

Any info. is appreciated

I'd say you've pretty well got the idea, point it in the direction you want to be heard, or turn it till someone sounds the loudest. You don't need a telescope to aim the thing, it's more a shotgun than a target rifle, sort of. Takes a little getting used to, so play with it till it starts making sense. Have fun.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
