Thought you guys might enjoy seeing this old road warrior of a Tram Diamond 60. Has mod to slide up as high as 27.555. The external slider and mods were done by a really skilled local tech, back in the day. He built quite a few of them like this one. Amazingly this thing still works perfectly, despite sitting on a garage shelf for the last 30 years, untouched. Still hits 25w on SSB. Got a good DX radio check first try, yesterday, running barefoot. Guess I will give it a little TLC, as it is still a great old rig, and I had forgotten how well it performs.

You are right, I had forgotten how good these old Trams are on SSB, they are so much nicer than I remembered! I got England and Australia yesterday with a little 50w Palomar on it, and a horizontal dipole. Both guys gave me excellent signal reports!

Do you happen to know which adjustment you use to align the tx and rx to track the same? My rx is a bit lower than my TX, so when im on 27.420 LSB for TX, my RX is around 27.419. I have the open clarifier but it is routed to the external dial. I can just understand stations, but they are definitely not quite on frequency when my TX is dead on frequency by my counter.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
