ok bought an old courier 23 tube job. looks to just need cleaned up. plugged it in lights up gets sound after 15 or 20 seconds. i went to buy a very inexp. mobile ant. antenna is not on the roof yet, but all hooked up w/ antenna inside the house, looks like its trans but not hearing anybody at all even on 19. is that bcause the ant is in the house. thanks a bunch will be figuring out next how to rig antenna on top of the house

I would try the new radio on a known working antenna, maybe a friends, or use another (modern) radio to set up and tune SWR, then try your valve radio?
Sorry I can't be of more help, but that's how I would check it, as I have very limited electrical knowlege, so I'd try the practical test.

I'm sure one of the experts will be along soon to give more help.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
