Well the question this time would have to be is that. My amp has two tubes the tubes # are 6JU6 and one of my tube that is in there right now is shorted out. Has a break in is somewhere. No matter what when I did try to key the amp up it would start to spark and then the fuse would blow. So I was wondering I have to buy two new tubes anyway. Could I exchange these 6JU6 for a better or a stronger tube that would help me produce more watts? Like a 6lk6 or something Without having to switch the inners of this amp????????

For the $$ I would stick with the 6JU6s as well and also consider replacing the filter capacitors on the amp.Hygain made these back in the early to mid 70s and parts dont last forever. And if its a mobile amp keep a pair or two of the oscillator transistors handy as they will eventually go out on you.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
