I found this mod that is supposed to make the AGC switchable fast or slow. What does that do and why would it be wanted switchable like that?

Thanks Lee

Switch-able ACG is for SSB work. What it does is slow down the receiver falloff giving the SSB signal more of a constant level. It can make ssb reception clearer and more pleasing. Almost every ham HF rig has it with several having different levels of falloff.

OK, that makes sense, thanks.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
