Amps that use 811 tubes

Collins 30L-1 ?

Hell, I don't know. Is it that you have a stash of tubes to burn up ?

I would not now build or purchase an 811 based amplifier. Even the 572 suffers from the same long leads within the tube as the 811,813 and all that ilk. The same dissipation limits, metal or graphite plate. The same ...

I love the warm glow as much as you do , however nearly a century has gone by since the design of glass envelope beam power triodes and pentodes. At least 90 years has gone by since the the first 812 was lit.
Hanging on to 70, SEVENTY YEAR OLD , technology is at the very least absurd if not masochistic.

I'll only temper this with I too continue to own a Heathkit HA-572B* , two home brew 811A twin tube nightmares, and a single tube tester for 811 and 572B. I will not purchase nor will I build another.

*for those of you that don't understand the subtlety of the joke, it's a Heath HA-10 Warrior with upgraded transformer and 572B tubes. It's a Heathkit in name only at this point.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
