Long story short, I acquired 6 steel whip antennas for next to nothing that are too short for CB use...or even 10 meter use. The longest one I think is like 92" long, the shortest is 74". I could add a threaded extension on the 3/8-24 base, but was wondering about just taking one antenna and cutting off enough from one to weld on to the other...you think it can be done/is worth the time to do?

Back in 1980/81
Had a Friend who screwed 4 of the 108" whips together..
Used Guy wires to each corner of the cars bumper.

He used a simply cobra 40 channel am only radio
( forget which model )

Man his car was constantly getting skip..
Seems No Matter where he was with it..

Only thing he got as much as Skip.
Were the Tickets ( lol )
His antenna ( with guy wires even ) would hit other side of freeway where ever he drove.. ( lol )

He didnt care, given all the skip he ALWAYS got though
