My friend bought his about 6 months ago and he opened it up to see what it looked like inside, He told me it was all surface mount technology (SMT). I cannot verify this because I did not see it myself. I trust him since he has amateur equipment and he works on them. I have also heard from other people that they do. I hope I'm wrong!<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":">

They are not all SMT. There is a couple places where there is some SMT in them.

DX99V will work just fine for ya then. The new one vs your old one very little difference.

If I buy a brand new Galaxy 99V is it gonna be all surface mount like the 2950DX?

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
