Wanted something to spot check my mobile setups and let friends borrow. Better than dragging out my expensive meters, or having friends abuse them.

Anyway, picked one of these up. Seems like a decent enough meter for the job. Appears to be reasonably accurate. It has some heft to it, which surprised me. It's very small. Not bad for a $20 something meter. I see it's marketed under other names, too.

I tell other drivers it’ll be the key to decent performance in a company truck. Just needs a jumper. Then tune-in that top load antenna. Use CLAYS RADIO SHOP procedure from site map.

And get over to Harbor Freight for a watertight, shockproof transport case. Keep radio, speaker, mike and meter safe.

Pick/Pluck foam makes for custom carry.



A radio will be fine the 192,000-miles you put on in two years. But switch tractors and that gear will get banged or dropped.

Several sizes. I can fit two UNIDEN digitals into a 2800 or one plus the West Mountain Radio ClearSpeaker and all accessories. It’s fairly big.
