There was a thread the other day about the dead key on a radio and we shared a few thoughts about Avg power, Mean power and RMS ( dosy watt meter term)
Root Mean Square that is applied to voltage measurements, not power in watts. These terms are often confused.
Here Is a link to some info that some may find interesting, so I wanted to post it.
We often get hung up on power meter reading`s and many augmentative threads get posted about power output.
One of the things I found interesting is the variation in reading related to speech processing.
This is the Bird 4314 Watt meter.
Measuring SSB transmitter power
The more one works to try to understand power measurement of modulated RF, the more it becomes much more complex than just a simple formula.

Have a look and post any comments you might have.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
