I can also tell you that I like the gum drop mounts but only the one that is gray in color.I cant remember who the manufacture is but they don't use any plastic or rubber for there gum drops its some kind of hardened resin that you will never have to worry about melting from to much rf power,plus the center insulator is teflon not plastic.I put over 5kw through mine so they are dam good.

Years ago everyone would use a radio shack ball mount , I know there are better and new improved mounts out there witch ones are the best
