But seriously, he means well, as I do too, we just try to express our opinions from personal experience, and from our large customer base, and from what they've said. For instance, we see lots of customers with lots of amps, all day long, some for matching to the radios, others for testing, etc. Then we see people on the forum saying things like "can I drive 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 watts into my xforce'? Then someone says OH SURE, then when we go to the Xforce section, it's filled full of posts like "smoked pills" or "burned resistors"! Just things like that sometimes make us post the things we post.

The narrow(2.4 Khz) SSB IF filter makes signals through the receiver sound very muffled when in AM mode. There is an 6 kHz wide AM filter available for the FT-101/B/E/F series radios, and it will install in place of the 600 hz CW filter in the Radio. The thing to remember is that when it is installed, you have to move a few wires around on the band switch so that the AM filter is used for AM Mode, and For SSB and CW the SSB (2.4Khz) filter is used or it will still sound muffled. That and you lose the Narrow filter for CW, and that is a BIG thing if you plan to use that mode!

As for the RF Speech Processor, yes it is nice to have, but not necessary , you can still achieve very good audio without it.
