I just got this ''new'' scanner from a local dealer, and according to the book that came with it, it can receive cell phone frequencies. any time that I try to enter a base or mobile frequency on the 800 mhz band regarding cell, the scanner displays e-loc. Supposedly, there is a modification for this scanner to unlock this feature... can you help?

This feature is useless in 99.9999% of America today since all cell companies have moved to digital carrier waves. It is also illegal , in America, to own/use a scanner that can pick up these old analog cell phone waves.
i'm in canada... those laws don't apply here.. unless in manitoba; where you can't even have a scanner on in your vehichle. I was just looking for the modification to unlock the cell band..
