im going to be changing the channel display in my cobra 29ltd and i was wondering, is there a mark on the new diplay or a way to tell which is the top? i would hate to go thru all that work and solder all those pins only to find out i put the display in upside down.

Look for the decimal points on the new display. That’s your bottom. They’re not connected in the 29’s circuit, but you will clearly see those dots on the bare display beforehand.

Ok cool. what if the new display i bought does not have decimal points on it, is there another way to tell which side is the top?

The manufactures part number is usually on the bottom. Also you may find a small notch or spot mark on the bottom side. I did find a rare one I had with no decimal points, but it did have a notch indicating pin 1.

If it's the workman 4233ba or 4233ra I've noticed that it's opposite on those. Not sure why they decided to label them that way but they have been for me.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
