Cobra 1000 gtl

Hello is cobra 1000 gtl worth 90 bucks? some guy offered it to me comes with 1speaker.

the speaker will sell on ebay for about 75.00 by its self. if you want a AM only radio it would be a good price with the speaker. at the age of the radio you will really need to recap it for best service. just my opinion.

you'll love that radio.

same on the inside as the 29GTL, which is the predecessor to the 29LTD.
any mod you can do to a 29LTD can be adapted to this chassis by comparing schematics.

I put an RFX75 in an 89GTL which is the same chassis as the 1000GTL, but with the styling of a 142GTL.

It takes some tuning, but i ended up with a base station that could do a 15 watt deadkey and swing 75 watts or so.
It would probably work even better with an RFX150.

Ran a Cobra 1000 for a few years, decent rig but I wouldn't give $90 for it. Maybe $75

I'd LOVE to have a Cobra 1000GTL... I have several 2000's and a 1000 would complement them nicely. I don't think 90 bucks for one with 1 speaker is a bad deal.
