COBRA 135 XLR

Picked up a old COBRA 135 XLR:redface:.Does anyone know how i can put in the extra cha. or any other mods? I know you guys can help me because this is a great site and you know your stuff.There are some GREAT RADIO TEC. HEREop:73s.GUYS. RAY.

which 135XLR do you have?

is it the one thats crystal controlled? or is it the one with a PLL chip in it?

also remember that this radio is almost 40 years old, and it IS going to have issues soon if it doesnt already.
if the electrolytic caps havent started going out one by one in it by now, then you are living on borrowed time.

Didnt have it a part yet.Got it from a guy on this site.Seems to work fine got a little skip here in P.A. On 36.37.LSB.With a little help from my FAT BOY i think the amp does 180 to 240 watts.J ust wanted to know what i can do to the OLD GIRL with mods. and anything else i can do.Got a TECK.here in P.A. He belongs to this site thats how we ment he lives about 30 miles from me.Traded my DX 959 for a UNIDEN WASHINGTON still in the box. you can put extra channels in either version, but the methods will be very different.

take the top cover off and you will either see a big bank of crystals or a big black IC chip. TC5080??? or something like that i think.
