Cobra 148GTL china mod

Did any one successfully mod a china made cobra 148gtl ? I mean the pll mod and the voicelock(slide) mod. I need this information

pll kinda, its flakey at best. sometimes the pll unlocks and it wont work.

I know I tried the regular mod and now the radio RX and TX on 28.085 and does not move from there regardless of what channel I turn to. But I guess there must be a way. Hoping someone knows
