Got one of these in recent trade. Was supposed to not TX at all but pleasantly surprised to find out it does. TX and modulation on low power seems fine but it breaks up / flutters on high power.
Have seen postings on the net where this is a design problem and there is a fix where 1 capacitor is added which prevents the RX from getting into the TX when transmitting....or something like that.
Can't find the fix exactly anywhere. Does anyone know exactly what the fix is with clear instructions or a linky? One site stated that this problem was evaluated in detail on cbtricks but I couldn't find it.
This radio is very clean and everything else seems to work as new so I'd like to investigate fixing it.
Can it still be sent to an authorized Cobra service center somewhere if nothing else?
