Bought this brand new radio thats been tweaked and peaked. Checked everything receive gain , Squelch, mic, and even did the tech bulletin to tighted the board mounting screws and that worked for a little about a week.
The problem that is having is that the receive keeps cutting out it transmits fine but i completely lose the receive. By that i mean no sound and no needle deflection at all and the weird part is sometimes the receive pops back on and works fine when i cyle it or key up a couple of times :confused1:
Any help would be appreciated and is there any shops on the west coast that will work on it? I used to take my stuff to bill good but cant find him anymore. Oh yea hello everyone :)

Hi Project,
Resoldered everything on that circuit board and the problem is still there. I hate to send this thing back to Cobra for repairs cause they will know that this thing has been peaked and tweaked and i might get it back stock.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
