cobra 29 lx need help!!!

Hello everyone. I am in need of your expertise. I have a cobra 29 lx stock radio, my dead key reads just over 3 on the stock meter, but when I talk into the mic I have no modulation. The meter never moves on the radio like it should. any help is great.

Try another mic. Sometimes a wire can break inside the mic plug. It could be that simple.

I did .I have the stock mic and a cobra m75 power mic nib. The same issue is there

Plug a speaker in the PA jack and turn on the PA function. See if you get sound out of it. If it works, that tells ya that the audio chip is OK.

if I get nothing then could be the audio chip? I just read another post similar to mine and they changed the finals and then they had the tx back. could the finals be dead?

If either the final or driver were dead, you wouldn't see any carrier on the meter - at all . . .
