I have a cobra 29 ltd classic I'm working on here. The radio appears to have been hooked up backwards at some point. I had to replace the reverse polarity diode and re solder a burnt trace on the board.

The radio powers up now but the receive isn't acting right. When receiving any station the audio from said station is really staticky and hard to understand. Even stations with good signal are hard to understand.

I figure something else has blown out from the reverse polarity but I'm not sure? Any ideas of what would cause this?

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
