Made contact this morning with 65DA/DX, Peter, in Sierra Leone which is on the west coast of Africa. 27.610 USB
Managed to bust through a huge pileup of European stations with only 160 watts and a homemade delta loop antenna.
10,900 km for only my fourth ever contact in Africa!

That is pretty great. Ive yet to cross into Africa. I need to go up more in the band and have a look from time to time.

I was lucky to make there also, but it was last year and the operator was using a #501 or #504 for the activation.

This year has been really hard to make it to the African continent, not as good as the previous cycle.

Did hear yesterday that 258 div was on for a few min's, (Tristan Da Cunha & Cough), it would be nice to catch that one .

I heard him last weekend, but he was low on my receive, but was coming up. Just checked his logs, and yes he heard me. I heard him about 4/4, but another station kept calling him, and stepping on his signal, so I never did get my signal report.

Signal to noise ratio is awesome on a Delta Loop.

Here is the link to 65DA/DX expedition, and you can check if you have been logged too.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes

Wes, it's better if you start a thread on the main forum, more people are going to see your question.
