Cre 8900 6 pin to 4 pin?

Does any body know if a 6 pin to 4 pin adaptor for a ranger would work similar on this radio? Just bought this radio and I would like to use a noise cancelling mic for mobile road conditions. Thanks in advance.

The only way to know for sure is to look at the mic pinouts on both the ranger and the CRE. I tend to doubt they are they same, but you never know...

cree has a hot pin and up and down built into it's 4 pin plug.
Best be real careful when adapting a mic for this radio.

Absolutely be careful - I was wiring a mic and didn't see a stray wire bridging two pins and I blew a trace right off the board near the front of the radio. I was able to bridge the trace and fix the radio but 1 sec of sloppiness caused 1 hour of work.
