D-104 /Turner Combo????

No reason why it shouldn't work. A mic element is a mic element right? Just give it a try and see what happens. I guess if it doesn't work out you aren't at a loss for anything.

Besides if it doesn't work you could purchase a Heil HC-5 cartridge and put it in the D-104.

Also a mic element out of an old Johnson radio will work as well and you might want to try this, the elements on these sometime break right in the center where the pin comes through the element try a drop of epoxy and that may solve the problem.Another mic element that will work is an element out of an Turner 575 flat mic that were used on many of the early Pace cb radios.

Hey guys, I have a old D-104 mic with a bad mic element...I also have a old Turner+3 desk mic wich is cosmeticly broken....I was thinking of taking the Turner +3 mic element and using it for the D-104 mic element wich is not working......It sounds crazy, but I guess you could say I'm bored.......LOL......Just was wondering if anybody every tried anything like this.......73's all
