Did I buy the wrong radio,,,Magnum S3

Hey Quick Cal...what's your 20? Did the shop you bought the setup from help you install and tune the antenna? If not, you probably need to do it yourself. If you need help with that, let us know. I say try out what you have for a while and see if you like it. Also check out other folks' setup if you get the chance. After using it for a while, you'll develop a better opinion on whether or not you want to change things around.

I want to start off by saying this is one heck of a site you guy's have here. I can tell there's a lot of very knowledgeable people here. Ok,, enough kissing up.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/laugh.gif ALT=":lol">



I have to admit I know nothing about radio's. I recently went to the cb shop, told the guy I wanted something that would get out really well for when I'm transporting car's across country in my 1-ton dually truck and 48' trailer(not a big rig). All I really wanted was a good cb. He talked me into this Magnum S3. He said It's been converted, peaked and tuned. I also got the Wison 5000 mag mount, and Astatic mic.



The first trip I took with it, out of the blue, people were asking me what kind of radio I had, it sounded really good. But now it doesn't seem to be getting out very well. I think I just have it all out of wack. Like I said,,,I'm a newbie<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/eyes.gif ALT=":rolleyes">



So finally to the point. Should I see if I can get a more basic model,,or take the time to really try to get this thing dialed in. I'm sure I'll get it figured out, but is it more radio than I need. Thank's for any input. Cal

I tend to agree with Laguna on this one. Too many "quacks" out there.
