ANY antenna may or may not "work" well indoors, depending on the type of construction, siding, insulation (foil faced), plumbing, other electronic equipment, etc. What might "work" well for someone might not "work" at all for someone else. Build it. Try it.
The problem with any dipole that one will undoubtedly encounter inside a home or attic, is the capacitive detuning effects that it will encounter while in a building. I am new to dipoles myself; but one of the rules I had to learn was how proximity of objects will quickly affect how they will tune.
Now - a 2m/70cm indoor/attic antenna - that may have a much better chance to work. At that freq; closer objects have less chance to detune the antenna. But that will still depend on how much space you can give it..
