Well I finally got time enough to test this 3000 out in my truck. Got great audio reports for a single final radio. Receive is phenomenal.
After transmitting on it for about an hour, people started telling me the audio was cutting out and getting weaker, signal was fine, just xmit audio started breaking up. Tried another mic with same results.
Popped cover off, with it still on and noticed the 2 audio chips were scorching hot. Let it cool down an hour, tried it again, it talked fine for about 20 minutes and then the xmit audio started breaking up again and the chips were screaming hot.
Already has a new passthrough reg, AF reg and 8v reg. No swing mods at all.
Any ideas guys?
