DIY UV glasses

Did a test to find out the following. Are tiny pieces of kapton tape easy to cut without them deforming and smudging the glue like electrical tape? And, does it stick to acetate film without sliding around like electrical tape? Yes to both.

Unlike most tapes I have tried, this stuff seems easy to cut small shapes in without deforming and having the glue smudge. It is also thinner than electrical tape.

What if the negative of the traces is laid out with kapton tape on acetate and that acetate is used to spead solder mask. The mask is cured and washed with alcohol. The traces will be cured and the rest will wash off leaving exposed copper. Follow up with a small brush to cover the pads using acrylic paint and then go to etch. After the etch, just acetone off the acrylic paint and you have bare board with masked traces and bare pads. Skip the photofilm alltogether.

The only issue is not nicking the acetate with a knife or it will let UV under the kapton tape. I will be trying this soon.
