Interesting, I thought he was talking about a Quad antenna. Looks like a featured radio. Small and compact is nice. The controls look crowded. Does this rig out perform the QT-60? I'm starting to get pretty fond of this radio.

It wasn't until recently (probably this last year) where I got to make a contact on the Uppers for the first time in my life. I just didn't really know where or what frequencies most were hanging out at. Thats when I learned of the triple .555 USB to try and make DX contacts to QSY to a specific frequency. My old man back in the late 1990s I believe talked about his radio having extra channels. Then it realized he was probably on the Uppers. 
I hear many stations south of the border on 27.695 and the neighboring channels. He had a Cobra 142 GTL and I believe with one of the switches flipped, it gave you a good range on the MB8719 PLL, which 27.695 falls on.
