The first step is the microprocessor master reset and will erase ALL memories.

Press F and CALL while turning radio on. Display will show all digits.
Release F and CALL. Display reads 433.00. Turn radio off.

While pressing the(3)and the(CALL) button, turn the radio on.
Display will show a (3). Release the(3)and the(CALL) buttons. Turn the radio off.

Turn radio on again. Radio will now display 433.00

Change step size to 5 kHz by pressing F and 3 and rotating dial knob one click to the left. Display reads 05.

Press F and 9. Display reads 05.00. Change it to read 30.6350. The last two digits look like a tiny [50]. It takes many turns of the dial knob to do this step. Pressing the function button while turning the knob will speed up the process by incrementing in 100 kHz steps.

Change step size back to 10 by pressing F and 3 and rotating the dial knob one step to the right. Display reads 10.

Press F and 0. Display reads 433.00.

Press 7. Display reads . (period)

Press the numbers 3 0 6 3.

Press *. Display reads 430.00.

Change step size back to 5 by pressing F and 3 and rotating the dial knob one step to the left. Display reads 5.

Press F and 9. Display reads 05.00 Turn the dial clockwise until display reads 05.63[50]. The last two digits look like a tiny [50]. It takes many turns of the dial knob to do this step. Pressing the function button while turning the knob will speed up the process by incrementing in 100 kHz steps.

Press *. Display reads 430.00.

Turn the radio off and then back on again. This restores the keyboard direct frequency entry feature.

The modification is now complete. The radio will now receive and transmit from 430.00 to 463.995.

Now you can use the F and Mhz buttons to set the RX/TX frequency changes:

Example:
Set the range to the US Amateur band only (420.00 to 449.995 mHz)

Press F and 0

Press 7. Display reads . (period)

Press 2 0 4 9

Press *

This sets the range to be 420.000 to 449.995 mHz.

Example:
Program 400 to 469.995 mHz

Press F and 0

Press 7. Display reads . (period)

Press 0 0 6 9

Press *

This sets the range to be 400.000 to 469.995 mHz.

Note: it is recommended to stay within 418.000-469.995 Mhz to be safe.

I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
