I am looking for a smaller external speaker to fit in my truck, I purchased a Texas Ranger 168 but it is just to big. Does anyone know of a good sounding well built external speaker that is smaller in size?

How small are you lookin' for? Is it the width that's the problem?

Width and height, the speaker i have now is about 5 1/2 x
5 1/2 is this is too large. I guess i would need a 4"x4" or smaller. Any Ideas?

Are you mounting it in a pickup or big truck? Why is size such a problem?

i use the radio shack ones.. they are about 3x3 or even smaller an they sound great.. an very loud..

Its a little Toyota Tacoma, I am going to mount it on the center console. I have seen the Rat Shack ones, are they that good? What about the Uniden Bearcats?

MFJ has a small one that's not bad. It's around $14.

The BEST one I've ever used (and still do) is the ICOM SP-10. They run about $60 but you can find 'em on sale from time-to-time for about $30, or occasionally, "used" on EBAY.

radio shack sells a small external speaker that is 3inchs by 3inches square it cost aroud $15 i think i use to have on ver nice speaker loud too!!!

do you have any truck stops near you if so i have seen small speakers in there for sale.
