Do you have the squelch set correctly and does it make noise when you open it? Have you checked it by keying another radio in the same area as the radio? Check that first. If it isn't the squelch, check the speaker with a meter to see if it is connected to the wires correctly If that seems to be okay then the radio should be serviced by a tech unless you have test equipment and the knowledge and skills to do it yourself.
Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
