OK, I am tired of the drift and waiting for it to preheat before use, and want to put a "heater" in there to preheat the frequency section so it is always warmed. Where is the best place to put one?
I'm thinking a light bulb, of the 194 style, with the socket hot glued to the top cover just above it, hooked to the power socket so it is lit whenever power is to it. I use it as a base station these days, so killing a car battery is not an issue. I also have the bulbs used in the meters, as I replaced the meter in it as it quit on me one day, so I kept the light.
