I finally ran into another trucker that was running one of these. I caught him on 385 LSB where most of the local Indy guys stay. It was a strong radio, but man did it drift. Finally heard him say he switched it to rx/tx mode for the clarifier, I'm guessing this is a switch for unlocking the clarifier and it did much better. That's a good looking radio and would be great all around mobile radio if they'd just put better components that wouldn't be so receptive to temp changes?

I've got a 949/959 that I play with. When I use it in the house where the temps are constant, I don't have to toudh it. When I run it mobile, I have to constantly adjust it for maybe 45mins to an hour before it settles down in ssb mode.

I'm just making an observation here, no intention of slamming anything....<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/tongue.gif ALT=":p"> <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/happy.gif ALT=":D">
