Galaxy DX 66v swing mod

Swing kit/NPC whatever same crap.
I disagree, my experience tells me they are not the same modifications.

Unless Member 3006 has returned his radio to factory configuration, he cannot set the modulation with a cheap meter, and be relatively certain the radio won't splatter.
ANY TIME you introduce a modification to one of the TX stages you must have at least an oscilloscope to make sure the output is relatively clean.

This is crucial for radios (mobile or not) that are used for a base station, unless you live in the boonies and don't care about any spectral purity/regulations.

Would you like to explain the difference? On a galaxy what mod is a swing kit and what mod is an NPC?

Do you have a scope?

Swing kits on Galaxys are fine, no harm done. Other radios not so much.....
Why not so much on other radios? If done right which most people don't then most radios will be splatter radios. You can not do a swing kit modification properly without a scope, period. Every radio is different and reading in mod magazines or your buddy says to just add this resistor diode combo and your good to go is pure B.S. Every radio is different and needs to be set up with a scope.

Hello gentlemen and Ladies. I have the dreaded RCI-2990 receive issue where my radio gets distorted when people get close to my location. I found the C90 Capacitor, but I can not for the life of me find the C89 capacitor. Can or does anyone have a picture of the exact location of C89 ? Thank you in advance, Wes
