Galaxy99v Stuck at 25 mhz???

I have a galaxy 99v that in advertantly drifts to 24mhz from time to time, so I bought a new one, well last friday I was talking Skip , and I looked back , and the back of my truck was on fire..... my 16pill was smoking (looked like a smoke grenade went off. I immediately looked down at my controls wattage fell off and then I noticed My 99v was down at 25.645. Now I was talking on 27.025.... Thats why my box went (poof). I can fix the box , no problem, but the radio is a different story. This thing is less than 3 months old. Whats strange using the channel selector i can change frequencies, but band select , and hi/lo does nothing it still stays in 25mhz range. My question is this. Anyone ever seen this happen??? I have ran Galaxy99s since the first one came out, but the last two have taken a CR@P for some reason. Anyone might know what is causing it. Is it the PLL. Im hoping there is something that I can replace and continue running it. Or should I just take it out , and Shoot it with the ole 45.???

Sounds like there might be a problem with the VCO. Could be something else, but I'd look there first. Give me a buzz if you'd like to send it in.

FWIW Pain, the ones I've seen that did that were due to cold joints in the PLL area. Go through them with the "flick" test, the freeze spray or heat gun. See if it makes a diff. If so a little fresh solder and you'll be good to go.
