No more slip seating this means I can run a radio. What do you fellas think of these 2 radios. Mods, power on am/ssb, rx/tx. I don't think the TR lights up though.

ive herd/read the galaxys have the best ssb section available in a NEW CB radio . most still say the old grants/148's are the best ever made .

the galaxy 959 and texas ranger 696f are the same radio. there are no differences in the older models other than looks. the galaxy does not light up like newer galaxys. the new 959's use a mosfet driver and final. i like the looks of the 696f (not fd1) over the galaxy's. there both easy to mod for extra channels and there are tons of supporting mods for them.
are they better than an old 148 gtl or uniden grant xl? no, there as close as you can get these days though.
