First I would have a shop with an honest meter check your radio. The only way you could see 70 watts is with a clipped radio into a Dosey watt meter. And those are not real watts it's splatter that excites the watt meter. I'm sure the shop showed you 70 on "their meter" though. An old style dual 1969 Lee should do 30-35 honest watts, and these new mosfet powered versions maybe 5-10 more.
What amplifier really depends on how much you want to spend, here are several options.

Make sure all is in order with your antenna system before you add an amplifier to the mix. Then make sure your amp install is done right as well and you should be good to go.

Ditto on the antenna; a good antenna will do more wonders for you than an amp will. Since you say it's going in a big rig I recommend a Wilson 2000 trucker. FWIW it beats the pants off of those 3 and 4 foot fiberglass whips.
Next make sure the coax is good. RG8X is good. Stock coax sucks. Use enough coax to get the antenna hooked to the radio. Contrary to belief, 18 ft is not needed.
Then make sure your SWR is low. Tune the antennas so channels 1, 19 and 40 are at 1.5:1 or less.
Once you have all this done then look into an amp. However chances are you may not need one. Again a good antenna set up will do you wonders.

If your going to run more than a two pill, it's gonna require amperage to feed it, I can't tell you how many unhappy drivers I have seen who can't believe they can't plug in their amp in the cig lighter. Is the radio/amp going to stay in the truck all the time, or is it a company truck with all the electronics that will light up when you keep up?
2. Am? SSB? Do you want a clean AB box or just want to try to win the keydown at the Petro?
