The ping is created by a 450 volt capacitor

22uf/450 volt,33uf/450 volt,47uf/450 volt I dont recommend using larger values than this as they can hurt your reciever over time. You can also run more than one and use a switch for long and short ping. You can also mount the capacitors in an external hobby box with switches.I have done this before myself. They are easy to build if you can use a drill and soldering iron.A friend of mine in the northwest used to build some beautifull external ping boxes but he quit making them.

The capacitor is located on the bottom side of the reciever. If you have the reciever upside down front facing you one leg of the barrel capacitor connects to the first tube socket to the right and the other end connects to the terminal strip to the left You should not attempt this yourself as it is dangerous and can hurt you or your reciever. But if you must attempt it check to see if there is a 450 volt capacitor in this location. If there is replace it with one of the values listed above and it should work. The capacitor is probably bad due to age and heat.If there isnt one you should let a tech install one for you.

<span style="color:red;font-size:large;">WARNING ALWAYS DISCHARGE CAPACITORS BEFORE TOUCHING THEM </span>

Hope this helps.
