homemade high pass filter for tvi

has anyone heard of this....read somewhere a guy said to get a 3prong plug and cord .use ground wire only .plug into wall and other end inline with antenna cable hooked behind set .sposed to work....also read agood idea is to carefully cut plastic off of coax about 1/2 long right at grond level at base of tower and wrap copper wire around shield of coax and then as short as possible grond wire to your groundrod.water proof and your done....
