i have a very old Realistic Shortwave scanner...now what?

i'm clueless when it comes to DX/Shortwave stuff.



I don't suppose there's a Shortwave for Dummies Guide out there?



I mean, I've heard weird radio stataions, in Japanese, I think, and maybe some German, but is that all there is to it? Listening to radio stations that I can't understand, and sound like boring put you to sleep talk-radio?



Please help me enjoy this ancient collection of wires to it's fullest extent!

If you like am talk radio you can find some programs on shortwave that are hard to find elsewhere.

Example; "voice of America"

That link might be helpful. That is a good company to deal with. They have a lot of info on shortwave, cruise around their site.
