HRO, has them for $155 with free ground shipping right now.

That seems like a pretty good deal.

I know somebody mentioned missing some on Ebay for $100 and probably plus shipping so this isn't too far off.

I see the price is coming down on that unit.It sure gets great reviews and looks like a great radio as well. The 75 watts of power isn't bad either,very tempting. I think if i was in the market it would be between the v-8000 or the ft-2800,however the new kenwood 271a i'm sure would give both a run for it's money. 73,Stu/CDX288

Roniac, I too have two V-8000's, and love them, one again one as a base, and one in the mobile. Plenty of power and reliability.

i would suggest the Icom IC-800

it does digital and fm
vhf/uhf 50/55 watts
