it is moronic in my opinion.

as if beam antenna owners are the majority of skip talkers. LOL
i would guess that 80+% of the DXers heard on the CB band are using vertical antennas.
most people just do not have the real estate to put one of these monsters up.
(im talking city dwellers here)

someone needs to remind the FCC that the skip phenomenon on the CB channels is THEIR FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they are the ones who chose 11 meters, not us.
placing this service in the HF portion of the spectrum, where signals bounce off of the ionosphere, and expecting people to abruptly abort communication with a station once they find out the station is more than 150 miles away is shortsighted at the very least.

i think the FCC just feels very impotent when it comes to any sort of enforcement on the CB band, and they are making some noise so people will think they are effective.

heck, if everyone used high gain antennas there might not be so many linear amp users.
